Poughkeepsie… As part of the Bridge D-32 replacement work on Ridge Road over the Coopertown Brook in the Town of Dover, the Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced that starting Monday, September 26th, a section of Ridge Road, approximately 400 feet east of Cooperstown Road, will be closed for road reconstruction to complete the realignment of Ridge Road to connect traffic onto the new bridge.  The closure is expected to last through Friday, September 30th.

Message boards are in place alerting motorists to the road closure and a detour route will be posted for the duration of the closure. Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and to consider alternate routes. Upon reopening of the roadway, work will continue to remove the existing Bridge D-32 and connecting section of Ridge Road, as well as various clean-up of the affected bridge work area. Project work is anticipated to be complete later this fall. Ridge Road averages approximately 550 vehicles per day.
