Putnam Valley, New York – On September 20, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt Barracks arrested Julian A. Moreno, 32 years old, of Cortlandt, New York, for Burglary 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.

On Friday, September 9, 2016, Troopers responded to a Wenonah Road home for a reported burglary and assault.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the victim went to his garage and was attacked by the suspect, identified as Moreno, who was armed with a crowbar.  Moreno struck the complainant in the head with the crowbar and a struggle ensued between both parties.

A neighbor contacted 911 for police assistance after hearing the victim call for help.  The victim gained control of the crowbar and struck Moreno before the suspect fled the scene on his motorcycle.

With the assistance of the Danbury Police Department, Moreno was located at Applebees on Federal Road in Connecticut.  Moreno was placed in custody on September 9, 2016 by Danbury Police and lodged as a fugitive from Justice.

Following his extradition to New York, Moreno was arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court by the Honorable Louis DiCarlo.  He was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond.  Moreno is due to appear in Putnam Valley Court on October 6, 2016 at 9:30 AM.
