Archery Series to Be Held at Bowdoin Park this Fall

Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Parks Division will once again be offering weekend archery sessions at Bowdoin Park throughout the fall season. Sessions will be offered in two groups in order to accommodate additional participants. Group A sessions will begin on Saturday, September 24^th and Group B sessions will begin on Saturday, October 1^st. The sessions are designed for children ages 8 and up and adults with any level of archery experience. Space is limited, registration is required.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “Our archery series at Bowdoin Park has become a very popular activity for children and adults to enjoy. We’re excited to be offering additional sessions this fall in order to allow for greater participation. I encourage all residents who have an interest in learning more about the sport to take advantage of this opportunity at one of our great parks!”

Both group sessions consist of five classes, each an hour long.  The first session will cover basic archery safety and skills for new participants. The majority of the sessions will be spent practicing with the bows, allowing participants to learn through experience. The cost for the program is $50 per person which includes all five classes. Equipment will be provided at no additional charge. Sessions will be held in the auditorium at Bowdoin Park.
