New York State Police Kingston arrest Hurley man for family offense

The New York State Police in Kingston arrested Daniel J. Cancellaro, age 36, of Hurley, NY for an Aggravated Family Offense (Class E Felony) and the misdemeanor charges of Assault in the Third Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

Cancellaro’s girlfriend placed a 911 call from his residence after he assaulted her.  The investigation revealed that Cancellaro punched and choked the victim during the course of a domestic dispute.

Cancellaro was arraigned at the Town of Hurley Court before Judge Michael Jordan.  He was remanded to Ulster County Jail on no bail and a stay away order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
