Obituary, Virginia Mikalsen

 

Virginia Mikalsen, a long-time resident of Lake Carmel, NY, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at her home in Pawling at the age of 75.

She was born in Manhattan on October 6, 1940 to James and Helen (Adlum) Cotter.  On April 22, 1962 she married Arthur Mikalsen in New Rochelle, NY; he predeceased her on January 9, 2009.

Mrs. Mikalsen was an active member and treasurer of the Sons of Norway.

She is survived by her son Thomas (Caroline) Mikalsen of Cold Spring, NY; two daughters, Kristine (Kevin) Lynch of Pawling and Barbara (Joseph) Caldwell of Watervliet, NY; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Connor, & Aleksandr Lynch, Andrew, Matthew, & Mary Mikalsen, and Emiliana Caldwell; and by her beloved dog, Lucy.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her brother James.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Friday, September 16th from6-8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 11 AM.

Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
