Putnam Valley Woman Faces Felony Drug Charge

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Putnam Valley woman on a felony drug possession charge.

On August 31, 2016 at approximately 10:20 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Frank Gallipani responded to assist the Putnam County Probation Department with a “home check” at a residence located at 1 Oscawana Lake Road in the Town of Putnam Valley. During the “home check”, probationer Wanda C. Eastman, 52, of that address, was determined to be in possession of quantities of cocaine. The deputy arrested Ms. Eastman and charged her with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a felony. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Nelsonville Substation and held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
