Berkshire Farms student charged with assault following on-sight altercation

PRESS RELEASE

Canaan, New York – On September 5, 2016, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested 16-year-old Tiquese A. Wilson, formerly of Schenectady, New York, for Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4thDegree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to an assault that occurred at the Berkshire Farm Center.  A staff member reported that four victims were currently being treated in the infirmary after receiving non-life threatening injuries from a disturbance that transpired in the courtyard.  An investigation revealed that a group of students were involved in a physical altercation.  Wilson, who had possession of a utility knife, had cut 3 residents during the fight.  When a staff member attempted to break up the fight, he also received an injury from the utility knife.  All four victims were treated at Berkshire Medical Center and released.

Wilson is scheduled to appear in the Town of Livingston Justice Court on September 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
