Traffic stop conducted on the Taconic State Parkway nets the arrest of Brooklyn man for felony DWI

Putnam Valley, New York – On September 3, 2016, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks charged 41-year-old Brian R. Morgan of Brooklyn, New York, with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies.

Troopers stopped Morgan on the Taconic State Parkway for speeding and for failing to utilize a directional signal when he changed lanes.  Following an investigation conducted by the arresting officer, Morgan was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop.

The defendant was charged with Felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from July of 2014.  Morgan was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree for operating the Hyundai with revoked driving privileges due to previous DWI related arrests.

The defendant was arraigned before the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail without bail.  He is due to appear in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court at a later date and time.
