Obituary, Charles R. Rowe, Sr.

 

Charles R. Rowe, Sr., 65, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at his home in Poughquag, NY, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Danbury, CT on August 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Clifford A. and Carlotta (Quintana) Rowe.  Charlie was a US Army veteran serving in Viet Nam in 1968-71.  He married Adrianna Burhance on April 6, 1973 in Kent, NY; she survives at home.
Charlie worked as the Director of the Putnam County Weatherization Program before retiring.

Charlie was a long-time boy scout leader of Troop 34, where he received the distinguished Silver Beaver Award and Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow, both for outstanding service in scouting. He was a member of the Town of Pawling ZBA, a past volunteer at Tymor Park in LaGrangeville, and past president of the Shore Haven Association. Charlie was also a youth group leader at the Pawling Methodist Church, a board member of the Pawling Resource Center, and a member of the Putnam County American Red Cross.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his son Charles R. Rowe, Jr. and his wife Ariana, of Ossining; his daughter, Tara Rowe, of Poughquag; his brother Raymond Rowe and his wife Patti, of Fort Myers, FL; his sisters, Shirley Price and her husband Tim, of Clinton Corners and Mary Rowe of Beacon; his two granddaughters, Siena and Keira Rowe; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Thursday, August 25th from 2-4 and6-8 PM.  A funeral will be conducted at the funeral home Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10 AM.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
