Two Putnam County men arrested following vehicle break-in investigation

Southeast, New York – On August 15, 2016, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 22-year-old Anthony J. Palumbo of Brewster, New York, for Assault in the 2nd Degree, a D Felony, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, a D Felony, Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, an E Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, an E Felony, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and Possession of Burglar’s Tools, all Misdemeanors.  Also arrested as result of this investigation is Patrick D. Holder, age 22, of Patterson.  Holder was charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, both Felonies, and Criminal Mischief, a Misdemeanor.

On August 15, 2016, Troopers were dispatch by Putnam County 911 for a larceny of tools from a vehicle at the intersection of Milltown Road and Old Milltown Road.  The complainant reported that he observed a white male had broken the van’s window and was removing tools from the interior.  The suspect then entered the passenger side of a gray Honda and fled the scene.  The victim attempted to stop the Honda from leaving the scene but fell to the ground and sustained minor injuries.

With the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect’s vehicle was located on Shore Drive.  Both suspects were placed in custody and found to be in possession of the property reported stolen by the victim.

Pursuant to further investigation into the criminal activity of Holder and Palumbo, State Police executed a search warrant at one of the suspect’s homes.  Investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in additional criminal activity in the Putnam County area and additional charges are pending.

The suspects were arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash/bond.
