Wappinger – Raymond John Budryk, 72, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1975 and formerly of Clifton, NJ, died suddenly on August 7, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Paterson, NJ on April 7, 1944, he was the son of Stanley and Jeannette Boniewski. Raymond proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and then in the Reserves for a total of 22 years until his retirement as Commander. He taught 9th grade Global Studies for the Millbrook Central School District in both the middle and high schools.

Raymond was a member of the Hopewell Reformed Church and a former member of the Wappingers Central School Board of Education. Active in the Boy Scouts of America, he was also a member of the Kiwanis Club in Wappingers Falls and the Millbrook Teachers Union. Raymond was an avid gardener who traveled all over the world with his wife of 45 years.

On July 31, 1971 in Clifton, NJ, Raymond married Judith Reimesch who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Toshiko Budryk of Maebashi, Japan, John and Jennifer Budryk of Walden, and Thomas and Katie Budryk of Beacon; his granddaughter, Kyoko Budryk of Maebashi, Japan; his sister, Patricia Lyons of Toms River, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11am-1pm at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by a Memorial Service at 1pm. Private interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
