State Police from Cortlandt barracks arrest Mount Kisco man for attempted rape

Cortlandt, New York – On July 27, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 26-year-old Erik Contreras-Diaz of Mount Kisco, New York, for Attempted Rape in the 1st Degree, a Class B Felony, Robbery 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony.

 

On July 27, 2016, Troopers were dispatched to investigate a reported sex offense that occurred at the Town Line Motel in Cortlandt.  Following an investigation conducted by responding members it was discovered that Contreras-Diaz brought the victim to the Motel.  He subjected the female victim to unwanted sexual contact and attempted to rape the victim.  On numerous occasions, she attempted to contact police for assistance and he prevented her from making contact with authorities by forcefully taking her cell phone.

 

The victim was able to exit the motel room subsequent to a brief struggle and contacted the police for assistance.   

 

Contreras-Diaz was located by police and arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court.  The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $100,000 Cash bail.  He is due to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Court on
July 29, 2016.
