State Police investigate fatal crash in Greenburgh

Greenburgh, New York – On July 26, 2016 at approximately 11:57 p.m., New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks responded to the area of mile post marker 5.6 on the Sprain Brook Parkway for a motorcycle vs. car collision.

An investigation revealed that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Andre P. Lindsay, age 28, of Mount Vernon, was traveling southbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway.  Lindsay, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of a southbound 2007 Honda Fit, operated by 44-year-old Ana Y. Mateo-Nunez of the Bronx.  Lindsay was subsequently ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious life-threatening injuries.

Several Good Samaritans passing the crash site stopped to rendered medical aid and CPR on Lindsay until EMS arrived on the scene.  Lindsay was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Greenburgh Police Department PD EMS and pronounced deceased by the attending physician. Mateo-Nunez was not injured.

The State Police were assisted by the Greenburgh Police Department EMS, FDNY EMS, Greenburgh EMS, and a Good Samaritan.
