Charles Michael Saum, of Coquina Crossing Florida , passed into eternity with our Lord on July 23, 2016, at the age of 78. He was born Sept. 23, 1937, was raised in Springfield, Ohio, and later spent many years in Pawling, New York. “Mike” served our country in the submarine service as an electrician’s mate aboard the diesel boat CORSAIR. He is a retired lineman with 31 years of service at New York State Electric & Gas in Brewster, N.Y., where he worked in utility construction and maintenance. He has been retired in Florida for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kareen Hyde Saum; one brother, Richard Warren Saum (Peggy), of Toccoa, Georgia; one sister, Karen Sue Baker, of Springfield, Ohio; a son, Michael Richard Saum (Cheryl), and two grandsons, Jake and Charlie Saum, of Port Hueneme, California. He was also a loving father and grandfather to his stepchildren and grandchildren.
Cremation will be performed with appropriate disposition of the ashes at a later date.
