Obituary, Francesca Vinciguerra

 

Francesca Vinciguerra, a former resident of Pawling and the Bronx, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY; she was 94.

Born in Sicily on December 2, 1921, she was the daughter of Calogero and Vincenza (Aromantico) Montalbano, and worked as a dress maker at Martino Dress Shop in the Bronx.

She enjoyed traveling and was a history fanatic.

She is predeceased by her husband, Salvatore, who passed away in 1962.

Survivors include her son Joseph and his wife Michelle of Pawling, NY, her two sisters, GiuGiu DiPizza and Anna Zarbo, both of Sicily; three grandchildren, Jesse, Benjamin, and Lauren; and three great-granddaughters, Isabella, Nicole, and Gianna.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Tuesday, July 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake/Mount Carmel, Lake Carmel, NY.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
