Troopers Arrest Suspect in Shrine Burglary

The New York State Police at Middletown report the arrest of Joseph Dearinger, age 36, of Middletown, for Burglary in the third degree. Dearinger was arrested on July 7, 2016 after an investigation into the burglary of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the Town of Wallkill in October 2015. Fingerprints recovered at the scene were later matched to Dearinger by the New York State Police crime lab in Albany. Dearinger was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court before the Hon. Joe Owen and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash or $120,000 secured bond.
