Greenburgh, New York – On July 6, 2016 at approximately 8:30 p.m., New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks were dispatched to investigate a four-car personal injury auto collision that occurred on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the area of Mile Post Marker 5.0.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a disabled vehicle had stopped in the middle lane of the southbound side of the roadway and traffic had slowed down to avoid striking the immobilized vehicle.  A black four-door sedan failed to observe that traffic had slowed down and subsequently struck the rear of a 2002 Honda, operated by Matthew Dusablon, age 22, of the Bronx.  The vehicle Dusablon was operating then struck the rear of a 2008 Caravan, operated by 45-year-old Geraldine M. O’Grady of Yonkers.  Before coming to rest, Dusablon’s vehicle also struck a 2009 BMW, operated by 22-year-old Sanjiv Lakha of Queens.  The black 4 door sedan fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Dusablon’s trunk contained the swimming pool chemicals chlorine and hydrochloric acid.  The pool chemicals had spilled on the roadway as a result of the collision.  The Fairview Fire Department declared the crash scene a hazmat situation and subsequently closed the roadway for the safety of all motorists and first responders.

Dusablon and his passenger were evaluated by EMS at the scene and did not seek further medical treatment.  At this time, none of the motorist involved in the crash have been issued traffic tickets.
