Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work is expected to begin the week of July 11th to replace Bridges PP-2 and PP-11 on Hoffman Road in the Town of Pine Plains. The bridges, located over the Shekomeko Creek, are in need of replacement due to significant structural deficiencies. Project work includes the replacement of both existing bridges and abutments with a single, two-span bridge, including new stone-faced parapets, bridge rail, lighting, approach pavement and expanded shoulders. Both bridges average approximately 530 vehicles per day.

Hoffman Road will remain closed during construction and is anticipated to reopen in late fall upon completion of the new bridge. The existing detour route will remain in place. After the construction of the bridge, additional project work may be required including ground restoration. To view a project detour map, click HERE.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional time and to exercise extra caution on the detour route, obey the posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and the directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
