Amenia, New York – On June 21, 2016, New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested 62-year-old Maureen A. Paul of Stanfordville, New York, for ten counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

In April of 2016, an employee from the Amenia Heath Center contacted the State Police to report discrepancies in the company’s routine audit of narcotic prescriptions.  The company learned that an employee at the Amenia Health Care Center, Paul, had written herself several prescriptions for controlled substances over the past several months.  As a result of the investigation, it was discovered that Paul had forged prescriptions for Oxycodone on ten occasions between June of 2015 and March of 2016.

Paul was arraigned before Town Justice Smith in the Town of Stanford Court and released on her own recognizance.  She is due to reappear in the Town of Stanford Court on June 22, 2016.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement.
