Speed of Sound Music Festival Returns to
Dutchess County Airport August 7th
Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Airport will once again host the annual Speed of Sound music festival, presented by Radio Woodstock 100.1 and Friendly Auto Group, onSunday, August 7th, headlined by Grammy nominated group, The Lumineers. The second annual all day music festival will feature a wide variety of talent in addition to The Lumineers, including scheduled appearances by Simone Felice, Rayland Baxter, Swear and Shake, Nicole Atkins, Fiction of the Future, and more. Tickets purchased in advance of the festival are $45 for “Economy Class” or general admission or $150 for “First Class” or VIP tickets. Children 10 and under are free. On-site parking is $10 per vehicle. Speed of Sound will be providing free shuttle transportation to and from the New Hamburg Metro North Train Station.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “We’re excited to welcome back the Speed of Sound festival to our own Dutchess County Airport. The festival will feature performers and activities that are sure to bring fun and entertainment for all to enjoy. I look forward to seeing everyone on August 7th for a day filled with great music and family fun.”
The festival will begin at 1:00pm with entertainment scheduled to begin at 1:30pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the day. Local farm-to-table vendors, Hudson Valley craft artisans and art installations, and children’s activities will also be featured. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will be donated to the Radio Woodstock Cares Foundation, benefitting non-profit organizations and those in need in the Hudson Valley community.
Pre-sale or “Frequent Flyer” tickets go on sale this Friday, June 17th for Radio Woodstock supporters and VIPs, Friendly Auto Group customers and members of The Lumineers Fan Club. Economy and First Class tickets will be available beginning on Saturday, June 18th at www.speedofsoundfest.com and can also be purchased without service fees at any of the three Hudson Valley Friendly Auto Group dealerships in Poughkeepsie and Middletown.
