Kentucky man charged with gun possession following traffic stop

Stanford, New York – On June 11, 2016, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie Barracks arrested Eugene W. Wolfe Jr., 43 years old, of Crestwood, Kentucky, for Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E Felony.
Troopers observed a Dodge pick-up truck towing a loaded car trailer enter the Taconic State Parkway at Bulls Head Road. The vehicle was stopped in accordance with Parkway Rules and Regulations and the driver was interviewed.
Wolfe, the driver of the vehicle, advised the officer that he had a Ruger LCP handgun in the vehicle with him. Wolfe, who is licensed to carry handguns in the state of Kentucky, did not possess a permit to carry a handgun in New York State.
Wolfe was transported to the Poughkeepsie barracks where he was processed and released after posting $750 station bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stanford Court on June 22, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
