Ellenville man arrested for Drug Possession, Unlawfully Fleeing the Police and Resisting Arrest.

PRESS RELEASE

State Police at Ellenville arrested Jason E. Jeter, age 33 of Ellenville NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th, (a felony), Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing Governmental Administration, (misdemeanors).

On June 14, 2016 State Police attempted to make a vehicle and traffic stop for failure to signal, in the Village of Ellenville.  The operator later identified as Jason Jeter, failed to comply with the officers and a short vehicle pursuit ensued.  While committing several vehicle and traffic violations and driving in a reckless manner the pursuit ended after Jason Jeter collided into a parked car and then into an embankment.  Jeter then exited the vehicle and led the Troopers on a foot pursuit where he was apprehended shortly after the foot pursuit began.  A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of cocaine.  Jeter was arrest for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration.

Jeter was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court before Town Justice Paul Shaheen and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail on no bail.  Jeter was ordered to return to the Village of Ellenville Court on June 16, 2016 at 4:30pm.
