Troopers in Westchester County arrested 5 intoxicated drivers this past weekend

Westchester County, New York – In an effort to combat intoxicated and impaired drivers throughout Westchester County, the New York State Police from Zone 3 made the following DWI related arrests between Friday, June 10, 2016 and Monday, June 13, 2016:
On June 10, 2016, State Police from Somers arrested Louis G. Russo, 40 years old, of Yorktown Heights, New York, for DWI, a Class E Felony. Troopers stopped Russo on State Route 118 for speeding and failure to maintain his lane of travel. Russo was charged with Felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a prior DWI related conviction from within the previous 10 years. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .11% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Somers Court on June 20, 2016.
On June 11, 2016, State Police from Hawthorne arrested 25-year-old Steven M. Osorio, of Yorktown, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor. Troopers stopped Osorio on the Sprain Brook Parkway for having a loud exhaust. Russo was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop. Osorio provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on June 24, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
On June 11, 2016, New York State Troopers from Hawthorne arrested 30-year-old Romina Abello-Rodriguez, of New York, NY, for DWI, a Misdemeanor. Troopers stopped Abello-Rodriguez on the Taconic State Parkway for operated a vehicle without its head lights or tail lights illuminated. Abello-Rodriguez was found to be intoxicated at the time of the lawful traffic stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of New Castle Court on June 23, 2016.
On June 12, 2016, State Police from Hawthorne arrested Cristian A. Cardenas, 25 years old, of Croton On Hudson, NY, for DWI, a Misdemeanor. Troopers stopped Cardenas on the Sprain Brook State Parkway for traveling in excess of 95 miles per hour. Cardenas provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .09% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on June 23, 2016.
On June 12, 2016, New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 33-year-old Jorge Cruz Ramirez, of Clifton Park, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor. Cruz Ramirez was arrested for DWI following a two-car property damage crash investigation conducted on Interstate 684. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10%. He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Harrison Justice Court on June 21, 2016 after posting $200 station bail.
Intoxicated and Impaired drivers put others at risk. Our goal is to keep offenders off our roads so that law-abiding citizens can safely travel in the Westchester County area.
