New Lebanon, NY: A pursuit across Columbia and northern Dutchess Counties ended late Friday afternoon when the vehicle drove off CR-70 in the Town of Pine Plains and became disabled. The investigation revealed that three juveniles, aged 14 and 15, had walked away from the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth in Canaan, NY earlier in the afternoon. They burglarized a local residence and subsequently stole a 2015 Toyota Camry from that residence. Within minutes of the vehicle being reported stolen, Troopers on ST-22 in the Town of New Lebanon observed it and attempted to stop it. The operator refused to comply and was subsequently followed by members of the State Police, who coordinated efforts with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and State Police Aviation. The three juveniles had been court committed to Berkshire Farms and have since been relocated to a secure facility in the Capital district. The subjects will be petitioned in Columbia County Family Court as juvenile delinquents, facing numerous felony allegations
