State Police from Poughkeepsie investigate fatal crash

PRESS RELEASE
LaGrange, New York – On May 31, 2016 at approximately 7:25 p.m., New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks responded to Freedom Road, in the area of Frost Hill Road, for a reported one-car auto collision.

An investigation revealed that 18-year-old Daniel A. Dangerfield of Pleasant Valley was traveling southbound on Freedom Road when his vehicle exited the eastern shoulder of the roadway and stuck a utility pole. LaGrange Fire Department extricated the victim and sole occupant of the Nissan sedan utilizing the Jaws of Life in under 10 minutes.  Dangerfield was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the LaGrange Fire Department and the LaGrange Rescue Squad.
