“AS THE WARM WEATHER APPROACHES, PLEASE REMEMBER TO BE MINDFUL OF YOUR ATTIRE. THIS INCLUDES BOTH GENDERS. ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING DOVER HIGH SCHOOL SHOULD ADHERE TO THE DRESS CODE.”

1. Today is a “B” Day.

2. The library will be closed today periods 4 and 5.

3. SAT Word of the Day: RHAPSODIZE  – The word means to engage in excessive enthusiasm.

4. Attention Seniors – Many scholarships have a due date of June1st! Get those applications turned into the guidance office.

5. Attention 8th graders!!! If you are interested in running for  a class officer position for next year, you must complete a candidate packet and return it to Ms. Krieger by Thursday, June 2nd. Packets can be found outside Ms. Krieger’s room. 

6. Attention all girls interested in playing Varsity Soccer next year there will be a meeting after school today in Mr. Esposito’s room.

7.  Are you looking for summer work? There is a job opportunity for our students this summer. The job is through Metro Golf and the Golfworks Foundation. They are in charge of summer golf course employment at Silo Ridge in Amenia. Questions and applications can be picked up in the guidance office!

8. Attention all Sophomores and Juniors – Summer Scholar applications are now available in the high school guidance office. Summer Scholars is a summer program offered at Dutchess Community College from July 31st to August 5th. The program title “Global Terrorism: Causes and Consequences” is designed to challenge high school students. If you are interested in this program, please come to the guidance office to pick up an application packet. Applications are due in the guidance office by Wednesday, June 1st – NO EXCEPTIONS – so plan accordingly.

9. A representative from the US Army will be visiting Tuesday during lunches.

10. National Junior Honor Society Food Drive – If you missed out on winning the door decorating contest, here’s another chance for your homeroom! The homeroom class who brings in the most cans/dry goods wins a pizza party or breakfast! Let the battle of the cans begin!! Also, for every item you bring in, a raffle ticket will be put into a raffle for an Amazon gift card. The more you donate, the more chances you have!

11. Music Man: All cast and crew stay after every day this week! Today from 2-8 pm, and Thursday from 2-8 pm. Two weeks left before show time! Let’s pull this together.
 
12. Attention all high school students – especially Seniors! There are only 30 yearbooks left! Order yours today before you miss out! They are $75, you may bring cash to Ms. Wool or write a check to Dover High School Yearbook. Nobody ever regretted buying their yearbook!
