State Police announce the arrest of a Cragsmoor man for Attempted Murder of a Police officer, Reckless Endangerment 1st, Menacing a Police Officer and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Cory Larson, age 32 of Cragsmoor, NY for Attempted Murder of a Police officer, a Felony, Reckless Endangerment 1st, a Felony, Menacing a Police Officer, a Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, a Misdemeanor.
On May 24, 2016 State Police at Ellenville were dispatched to a 911 poll for several unwanted subjects attempting to gain access into a private residence.  The caller, Cory Larson, requested police assistance to respond to his residence.  Upon the arrival of a State Police patrol, they were met with gunshots coming from inside the residence, while the Troopers approached.  After an exchange of gunfire with Cory Larson, he emerged from the residence unarmed.  After further investigation at the scene Cory Larson was found to be the only occupant in the residence and there was no indication any other subjects were at the scene.  Cory Larson was taken into custody without further incident or injury.
Cory Larson was arraigned before Town Justice Wayne Lonstein from the Town of Wawarsing Court and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.  Cory Larson was ordered to return to the Town of Wawarsing Court on May 27, 2016 at 8:30am.
