The New York State Police at Monroe, in conjunction with the Village of Chester Police Department and Village of Florida Police Department announce the arrests of Talib S. Barnes, age 25 and Miranda J Jones, age 20 both of Middletown, NY for two counts of Burglary in the second degree.

Barnes and Jones did enter two separate homes in the Village of Florida, stealing jewelry, credit cards, cash, and electronic devices.  The subjects were later located in the Village of Chester and found in possession of the stolen property.

An extensive joint investigation involving the Village of Chester Police, Village of Florida Police, Town of Woodbury Police, Village of Harriman Police, and the Village of Monroe Police revealed Barnes and Jones were also responsible for several additionaly burglaries throughout Orange County.  The investigation remains ongoing and additional criminal charges may be brought against the couple.

Talib S. Barnes and Miranda J Jones were arraigned in the Village of Chester Court and were remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail pending their next court appearance.
