Westbrookville Woman Arrested for Assault with a Weapon

PRESS RELEASE

                                                 

The New York State Police at SP Wurtsboro announce the arrest of Deborah L. Hodella, age 56, of Westbrookville, for the felony charge of Assault in the Second Degree, the misdemeanor charges of  Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, and the charge of Harassment, a violation.

This arrest is the result of a domestic incident wherein Hodella struck another person in the head with a liquor bottle.  She then bit and kicked that person causing serious injuries which required medical treatment at the hospital.  While at her arraignment, Hodella spit at and kicked a State Trooper resulting in additional charges.

Hodella was arraigned before Town of Mamakating Town Justice Cynthia Dolan, who remanded her to the Sullivan County Jail on $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail.  Hodella is scheduled to appear in the Town of Mamakating Town Court in front of Town Justice Joel Welsh on 06/07/16 at 10:00 am.
