State Police arrest man for stealing twin brother’s identity

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police announce the arrest of Anthony Hutchinson, age 21, of Newburgh, NY for Identity Theft 1st a class D Felony, Forgery 2nd a class D Felony and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property a class A Misdemeanor.

Investigation by the New York State Police revealed that Mr. Hutchinson obtained a duplicate Driver’s License belonging to his twin brother and used it to open a bank account in his brother’s name in the City of Newburgh.

Addtionally, Mr. Hutchinson received a traffic ticket in his brother’s name and signed his brother’s name when returning his plea to the Town of New Windsor Court.  Mr. Hutchinson received the ticket while presenting his brother’s license when stopped by Troopers.

Mr. Hutchinson was arraigned at the Town of Newburgh Court where he was remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
