Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Patterson man in connection with the larceny of a motor vehicle.

On May 6, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Patterson resident arrived on a train at the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Patterson Station to discover that her vehicle had been stolen from the station parking lot. The resident immediately reported the vehicle stolen to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. An investigation revealed the identity of the suspect as Paul H. Andrews, 41, of 1005 Route 311, Patterson. On May 10, 2016 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Andrews was located by members of the PCSD Bureau of Criminal Investigation, arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a felony. The defendant was arraigned before Town of Southeast Justice Richard Vercollone and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500.00 cash bail or $3,000.00 bond pending a May 23, 2016 appearance in the Town of Patterson Justice Court to answer the charge. The victim’s vehicle was subsequently recovered at Shop Rite Plaza on Route 52 in the Town of Carmel.

If found guilty of the felony charges, the defendant could face up to four years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
