1. Today is a “B” Day.

2. A representative from Lincoln Tech will be visiting today during lunches. Please stop by to see the representative.

3. The library will be closed today due to AP testing.

4. SAT Word of the Day: CONFLAGRATION  – The word means great fire.

5. Music Man – Full cast rehearsal today! We will be working on choreo, vocals, and blocking. See you all after school from 2-5 pm! Let’s pull this town together!

6. Do you have old t-shirts you no longer wear? During these warmer months, the Senior Honor Society is in search of clean t-shirts to donate to those in need. Donation boxes can be located in the high school lobby, Ms. Murray’s room, and the dining hall from May 9th until May 20th. Please donate!

7. Anyone in need of community service and would like to participate in Grim Reaper Day please see Ms. Mangar.

8.  Monday morning is the last day to enter your pet into the Pet Photo Contest. It costs only $1.00 and all proceeds go to the Dutchess County SPCA. Voting will begin next week. Help the homeless animals by showing off your adorable pet!

9. All middle school students interested in getting involved backstage for the middle school musical stay after on Thursday and Friday this week from 2-5 pm! See Mr. Stockslager for more information. We need students for lighting, sound, and stage work.

10. The Music Boosters are sponsoring an art contest to design the new Dover Music logo. The winner will receive a free shirt and a $50 gift card. The contest is open to all 6th through 12th grade students. Entries must be received by June 2nd. See a music teacher or art teacher for an entry form.

11. Attention all Sophomores and Juniors – Summer Scholar applications are now available in the high school guidance office. Summer Scholars is a summer program offered at Dutchess Community College from July 31st to August 5th. The program title “Global Terrorism: Causes and Consequences” is designed to challenge high school students. If you are interested in this program, please come to the guidance office to pick up an application packet. Applications are due in the guidance office by Wednesday, June 1st – NO EXCEPTIONS – so plan accordingly.

12. All middle school band lessons are cancelled today and tomorrow – May 12th and May 13th.

13. Attention all middle school students! Come to the last activity night of the year on May 13th! Get ready to dance the night away and play dodgeball with your friends. It will be from 6:30-9 pm and the cost is $5 at the door.

14. Trade Secrets Garden Tours: Friday, May 13 – Sunday, May 15th, benefits Women’s Support Services. Volunteers needed for the following: Set-up Crew, Traffic Crew, Vendor Assistant Crew, Parking Crew and Site Crew. Job descriptions available in the community service office.
 
15. Community Service Opportunity –  Pawling Library is looking for volunteers ages 12-18 to help with summer programs that will run from July 5th through August 27th. Dates and time commitments are flexible. Interested students should complete and submit a 2016 Summer Volunteer Intern Application by Saturday, May 28th. Applications are available at www.pawlinglibrary.org or at the library.
 
16. Attention 6th grade – The next meeting of the Newspaper Club will be held on Monday, May 16th in the middle school computer lab (room 1129). See Mr. Orton with any questions.
 
17. There will be a Blood Drive this Tuesday, May 17th. Stop by the table outside the dining hall or see Ms. Murray for permission slips. GIVE A PINT, SAVE A LIFE!!
