Wappinger, New York – On May 5, 2016, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Wappinger arrested Brittney C. Holpert, age 30, of Wappingers Falls, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E Felony. Holpert was additionally charged with the Misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree.

On May 5, 2016, at about 9:58 a.m., Troopers responded for a report of a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Widmer Road and Wildwood Drive. The caller reported that the defendant’s vehicle exited the roadway, struck a sign, and continued to a nearby residence where it was located by responding police units. An investigation revealed that Holpert had operated the vehicle while impaired by drugs, and her driving privileges were suspended. Holpert was subsequently found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

Holpert was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court. She was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Her next appearance was scheduled for May 9, 2016, at 5:30 p.m.
