Wawarsing Woman Arrested for Possessing Proceeds from a Burglary

PRESS RELEASE

    On May 5th, 2016, the members of the New York State Police, Troop F, at SP Ellenville, announce the arrest of a female for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Town of Wawarsing N.Y.
Arrested was Maria A. Martinez, age 55, of Wawarsing, New York who was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5^th a misdemeanor.
The New York State Police conducted an investigation into a Facebook post in which Maria A. Martinez was selling a piece of jewelry. The victim of a burglary from September of 2015 saw the post and identified the piece of jewelry as theirs having been stolen during that burglary. Maria A. Martinez was located and found in possession of the stolen jewelry and taken into custody.
Maria A. Martinez was arrested and processed at SP Ellenville where she was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wawarsing Court on Friday May 13^th, 2016 at 8:30am.
