Poughkeepsie Man Arrested For Felony DWAI Drugs

At 12:57am on Saturday April 9, 2016 a Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff observed a 2008 Chrysler, operated by Steven J. Bartholf (40 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY speeding and driving erratically northbound on South Road (State Route 9) in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  Subsequent investigation revealed that he was impaired by drugs and illegally possessed a controlled substance.

Bartholf was arrested and charged with a felony count of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th a misdemeanor as well as other traffic infractions.  The DWAI Drug charge was a felony since he had a prior conviction for DWAI Drugs within the prior ten years.  That conviction was on October 18, 2007 in the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on April 25, 2016 at 3:00pm.
