Traffic stop leads to felony drug charges for a Port Jervis woman

The NEW YORK STATE POLICE at Wurtsboro announce the arrest of STACI D. DENNISON,42 years old, of Port Jervis, NY for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third degree (Class B felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third degree (Class D felony), Tampering with Physical Evidence (Class E felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh degree (Class A misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (Violation), and Resisting Arrest (Class A misdemeanor).

Troopers from SP Wurtsboro stopped DENNISON on Route 209 in Wurtsboro for an expired inspection sticker. During the stop, DENNISON admitted to being in possession of a stun gun and a set of metal knuckles. As Troopers were placing her under arrest, she physical resisted and attempted to conceal numerous bundles of heroin she had on her person. DENNISON was subdued and taken in to custody without further incident. A search of her vehicle revealed that, in addition to the approximately 110 decks of heroin found on her person, she possessed quantities of MDMA (ecstasy), bath salts (a stimulant), and marihuana. A stun gun and metal knuckles were also recovered.

DENNISON was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to the Sullivan County jail without bail, pending a future court appearance.
