Obituary, John (Jack) Francis Pindt

 

John (Jack) Francis Pindt, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Pine Plains, NY, surrounded by his family on April 3rd. Jack was born in Ossining, New York on August 30, 1932 and was the son of Paul Sr. and Margaret (Curtis) Pindt, who predeceased him. John was also predeceased by his son, John Francis Pindt, Jr, three siblings, Gene Pindt, Margaret “Petie” Morabito and Judith Robison. Jack joined the Marines during the Korean War, serving his country for 8 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Jack began his professional career as a Correctional Officer at Sing Sing Prison, then becoming a Police Officer at the Greenburgh Police Department in 1960. He received many awards for his dedicated, hard work and because of this was promoted to Sergeant Detective where he went above and beyond the call of duty. Jack married Judith Ann (Barbato) on December 9, 1956 in Ossining, NY. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by daughters Jody Pindt, Jennifer Mosher and husband Ronald, 3 grandchildren, Joshua Pindt, Casey Pindt and Kerin Pindt. Also surviving are a brother, Paul Pindt, Jr. and a sister, Margaret Picarelli. Calling hours will be at 32 State St, Ossining, NY, New York on Saturday April 9th, 9 am to 11 am. A graveside ceremony will follow at 11:30am in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Ossining, New York.
