Fishkill man charged with felony heroin possession following traffic stop

Wappinger Falls, New York – The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team of the Hudson Valley and members of SP Wappinger announce the arrest of 20-year-old Rocco F. Guida of Fishkill, New York. On March 9, 2016, Guida was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony.
Troopers stopped Guida on State Route 9 in the Village of Wappinger Falls for tailgating. Subsequent investigation revealed that Guida was in possession of approximately 23 grams of heroin which was concealed in a “hide-a-key” magnetic box under the hood of the 2003 BMW he was operating.
The defendant was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court before the Hon. Romig and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is due to appear before the Village of Wappinger Falls Court on March 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Petrus and K-9 Piko.
