Poughquag, NY man arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated

PRESS RELEASE

Tarrytown, NY – On March 3, 2016, at approximately 2:43 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on I-87 near Exit 9. Troopers located a 2000 Honda Accord on the shoulder of the roadway with the driver asleep behind the wheel, the keys in the ignition, and the motor running.  The driver of the vehicle, Joseph R. Berenguer, 31, of Poughquag, NY, was found to be intoxicated. He was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19%.  He was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor
Berenguer was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Tarrytown Court on March 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
