Brooklyn woman arrested for entering Sing Sing Correctional Facility with a weapon

PRESS RELEASE

Ossining, New York – On February 23, 2016, the New York State Police at Hawthorne arrested Samantha Nieves, 29 years old, of Brooklyn, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Troopers were contacted to assist the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations with the arrest of Nieves, who entered Sing Sing Correctional Facility with a weapon.  The defendant was at the facility to visit an inmate.

Nieves was arraigned in the Town of Ossining Court and released on her own recognizance.  She is scheduled to return to the Town of Ossining Court on March 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
