Dover High School Daily Announcements – 2.23.16

THE BLOOD DRIVE LAST WEEK WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL! OUR GOAL WAS 44 PINTS – WE COLLECTED 46!!!  Fifty one people signed up to donated. The Senior Honor Society would like to thank everyone who participated – and please consider donating during our second blood drive in May.

1. Today is an “A” Day.

2. Youth for Diversity’s Black History Month Fact of the Day is: Baseball catcher Elston Gene Howard was born in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1965, Howard signed a $70,000 contract with the NY Yankees and became the highest paid player in the history of baseball at the time in 1929.

3. Lost and Found items will be outside of the high school dining hall during lunches this week. Items that aren’t picked up will be donated.

4. Attention all high school Photography Club members – There will be a meeting after school Thursday from 2-3:15 pm. We will be working on still life images. Bring a camera.

5. SAT Word of the Day: BLIGHT  – The word means a plague, disease, something that destroys hope.

6. There will be a Scrub Club meeting on Wednesday after school in Ms. Murray’s room. We will have a guest speaker.

7.  CINDERELLA!!! We will meet from 2-8 pm today! See you ALL after school today! Let’s keep this carriage moving!

8. Are you interested in getting some community service? Students are needed to help with the Homework Club at Dover Elementary. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Cleaveland.

9. Middle School Activity Night from 6:30-9 pm on Friday, March 4th. Admission is $5 at the door. Come dance with friends and enjoy open gym.

11. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – Buy you Yearbook today. There are only 50 copies left! They are $75, see Ms. Wool or a Yearbook Club member for information.

12. Cosplay Club – Today is Game Day. Please bring your devices and plan on staying until 5 pm.

13. Girls Golf will be starting March 7th. Please see Mrs. Cleaveland for details.

14. There will be a Varsity Girls Lacrosse meeting on Monday, February 29th at 2:30 pm at Pawling High School. Any girls who cannot attend please see Coach Light in the middle school office before Monday.

15. Softball open gym this week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2-3:30 pm. Thursday from 3:30-5 pm just pitchers and catchers.
