State Police investigate fatal crash in Cortlandt

Cortlandt, New York – On February 19, 2016 at approximately 5:57 p.m., New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks responded to Albany Post Road for a reported head-on auto collision.

An investigation revealed that 46-year-old Manuel Collaguazo of Kingston, New York, was traveling northbound on Albany Post Road when for an unknown reason, his vehicle entered the southbound lane.  Collaguazo’s 1995 Honda struck a 2010 Mercedes-Benz, operated by Patricia Jackson, age 55, of Poughkeepsie, New York, head-on.

Collaguazo was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Jackson was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The State Police were assisted by the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office, Continental Village Fire Department, and Peekskill EMS.
