Poughkeepsie man arrested for DWI and felony Aggravated Unlicense Operation following traffic stop

Poughkeepsie, New York – On February 7, 2016, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Donald P. Goeller, 51 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Trooper patrolling Vassar Road observed a gasoline powered bicycle traveling in the southbound lane, failing to maintain its designated lane of travel.  The gas powered vehicle was stopped by Troopers at the intersection of Vassar Road and Silver Lane.  Troopers interviewed the driver who identified himself as Goeller.  Subsequent investigation revealed that Goeller was operating the bicycle while intoxicated.

Goeller was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree when a license check revealed a total of 4 revocations due to DWI related charges dating back to 1999.

Goeller provided police with a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .19%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxicated.  He was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on February 16, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
