Dover man arrested for DWI following crash investigation

Dover, New York – On January 31, 2016, New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested 44-year-old Vincenzo F. Simone of Dover, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Troopers were flagged down by a Good Samaritan who witnessed a one-car crash that occurred on State Route 22 and East Duncan Hill Road. Following an investigation conducted by responding officers, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Simone, was found to be intoxicated.

Simone was additionally charged with resisting arrest and marihuana possession.

Simone was transported by NDP to Sharon Hospital for an evaluation.  After he was released from the hospital, he was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Dover Justice Court on February 4, 2016.
