Wappinger man arrested for possessing child pornography

Wappinger, New York – On January 18, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested John A. Casali, 38 years old, of Wappinger, New York, for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E Felony.
In October of 2015, a Town of Wappinger resident contacted the State Police after locating a USB drive containing child pornography along the side of Old Hopewell Road.
Following a lengthy investigation conducted by the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and uniformed Troopers, it was discovered that Casali owned the flashdrive which contained over 100 images of children engaging in sexual acts.
Casali was arraigned before the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on January 20, 2016.
