Wrong Way driver arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

Yonkers, NY – On January 14, 2016, at approximately 6:40 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a wrong way Mitsubishi Montero traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on I-87 near the Yonkers Toll Barrier.  Troopers with the assistance of a Help Truck quickly pull the vehicle over before any incidents.  The driver of the vehicle, Clara Rodriguez, 32 of Peekskill, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  Rodriguez was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where her blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.17%.   She was subsequently charged with:

  • Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor
Rodriguez was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Yonkers Court on February 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
