Brewster man arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs

LaGrange, New York – On January 13, 2016, New York State Police from Poughkeepsie arrested John P. Covais, 37 years old, of Brewster, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.
Troopers stopped Covais on State Route 55 for failing to maintain his designated lane of travel. An investigation revealed that Covais was impaired by drugs at the time of the stop.
A State Police Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Covais following his arrest.
The defendant was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of LaGrange Court on January 27, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
