Cortlandt, New York – On January 11, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Angel F. Cobos, 30 years old, of Cortlandt, New York, for Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all Class A Misdemeanors.

On January 11, 2016, Troopers were dispatched to a Cortlandt residence for a reported physical domestic disturbance.  The victim reported that Cobos struck her in the face and she lost consciousness.  When she got up and attempted to contact 911 for assistance, Cobos prevented her from using the phone to call for help. The altercation occurred while Cobos was holding the couple’s 6-month old child.

Cobos fled the home prior to police arriving on scene.  He was subsequently located in Peekskill and placed in police custody.

Cobos was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and released on $1,000 bail. He is due to reappear in Cortlandt Court on January 25th, 2016.
