Patterson man arrested after reporting alleged burglary

Patterson, New York – On January 6, 2016, the New York State Police in Brewster arrested Nicolas Dename, age 36, of Patterson, New York, for Falsifying Business Records 1st degree and Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd degree.

On January 6th, Dename contacted Putnam County 911 reporting that two men broke into his home and stole cash and prescription medication. Subsequent investigation conducted by members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Uniform Force with the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office determined that Dename had fabricated the incident.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Kent Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond.  He was directed to appear at the Town of Patterson Court on January 14, 2016 at 5:30 pm.
