State Police arrest two North Salem men for hay theft

North Salem, New York – On January 3, 2016, the New York State Police at Somers arrested 33-year-old Angel H. Parra Penafiel and Hugo Ramirez-Morales, age 33, both of North Salem, New York, for Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.
Pursuant to the Lois Colley homicide investigation, it was revealed that the defendants had stolen in excess of $30,000 worth of hay from Colley’s Windswept Farm over the last several years and sold it.  Both defendants were employed by the farm as laborers.
Parra Penafiel and Ramirez-Morales were arraigned in the Town of North Salem Justice Court before Hon. John M. Aronian and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail/bond.  The defendants are scheduled to return to the North Salem Court on January 11, 2016.
